If we wanted more proof that celebrities lie about their personal lives, here it is. Britney’s mum Lynne Spears has admitted that Britney took to drinking at 13, slept with an eighteen year old football jock at 14, a year before she became a teen pop star and she did coke and cannabis when she was just 16. After all the brouhaha about Britney being a virgin many years ago, and after everyone laughed at the idea of she ever being a virgin, her mother now confesses Britney has been a really spoilt and wicked girl. We wonder why the celebrities don’t keep their personal matters to themselves and leave the paparazzi to do the job. We really don’t need Lynne’s confirmation about her daughter’s wanton ways. It was and is all over the place to understand what a fallen pop star Britney Spears is.

What this ”evidence” demonstrates is that Britney’s early teens were like a great deal of other young teens in America... not some aberration but more of a template of the emptiness life for the young in the world’s most powerful economy’s heartland...
Graeme-you hit the nail on the head. It is not something that would startle a reader here on instablogs. Almost every second teenager in the US takes to drugs at an early age which makes Britney no exception. Whenever these celebs run short on publicity they would have their parents coming out with such bizarre revelations to make them popular again. I can hardly recollect a Hollywood star that has an individual lifestyle so as to say.
i am completely agree with you Atul, every second teenager in the US takes to drugs at an early age which makes Britney no exception. And it is more so in case of the pop-divas. Pop-diva’s lifestyles are generally a little more wayward than the other signers or performer. The way they dance, sing, and rock, that forces them to take the help of drug and drink.

It isn’t only the pop stars Sasmita! The biggest names from Hollywood did go through this phase at the early age. Angelina Jolie, the modern face of beauty so as to say was at it at the same age. It is every second child in the US and not just the stars. Out of those children a few become stars and then they reveal the secrets of their childhood. It is mostly that they have had sex at an early age. Imagine Kylie Minouge made out with hear classmate in the class-room cupboard when she was 14. There are endless examples.
