I’m hoping the sheer shock of turning 34 can knock some sense into good ol’ Kate. And she did make a decent start of cleaning up her messy party ways by keeping her birthday bash a relatively low-pro event. Although she plans to have as many as five parties to mark her 34th year, insiders say the classy bashes will include only a select few of her closest galpals- Davinia Taylor, Fran Cutler, Meg Matthew, Kelly Osbourne and Kate’s daughter Lily Grace.
Disclosing the troubled supermodels party plans, a source said Kate is “easing herself into party mode in a $5,000 a-night suite at the Dorchester hotel in Mayfair.”
Then the ladies plan to enjoy a gourmet Chinese meal at the hotel’s restaurant China Tang, owned by Kate’s good friend David Tang.
A source reveals the next leg of bash:
Kate and her posse plan to drop off at the house of Serena Rees, the founder of Agent Provocateur who is a good friend and also hosted an afterparty on her 30th birthday after they famously went off the rails at Claridges.
Two more parties are planned at a local pub and at Kate’s best friend Davinia Taylor’s house from where the bunch will head off to a house-warming party at Kate’s new $8-million pad in St. John’s Wood, “which painters and decorators have spent the past four days frantically doing-up.” And all this when the event was supposedly kept “low-key”!
