Mischa Barton joined the fellow Hollywood beauties Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton in securing herself a prestigious DUI sentence but stopped short of getting a jail term when the first time offender was slapped with three years of unsupervised probation in a Beverly Hills courtroom Thursday.
The 22-year old had previously admitted her error in judgment on Ryan Seacrest’s KIIS-F.M. radio show on January 10, saying:
Obviously I’m 100 percent responsible for my actions in this case. I’m really disappointed in myself. I don’t know what to say about it, except that I’m not perfect, and I just don’t ever intend to do something this stupid again.
Barton had pleaded no contest to the charge in a plea deal reached with the prosecutors, who were also kind enough to drop the marijuana possession charge against the former O.C. star due to the small amount found on her while the driving without a license chare was reduced to an infraction.
After the hearing, her lawyer said in a statement:
Ms. Barton understands that the seriousness of this situation and assumed full responsibility for her actions. She and I are grateful to the Court and the District Attorney’s Office for the prompt and respectful resolution of the case.
The actress, who did not attend the hearing, was also ordered to pay a fine of approximately $2000 along with completing a three month alcohol education class.
