It seems wedding bells will soon toll for Hollywood actress Penelope Cruz and beau Javier Bardem. Bardem, the first Spanish to be nominated for an Oscar in ‘Before Night Falls’, proposed ‘Volver’ actress while they were vacationing in France. The big decision of marriage came from his side after he was persuaded by his mom, Pilar, to make his relationship official with his girlfriend.
According to a Bardem’s close friend:
Pilar took her son aside and told him, ‘What’s the matter with you? She’s perfect! You love her, she loves you. Get married’.
She fell for Bardem when she met him on the sets of Oscar winner Woody Allen’s flick, ‘Vicky Cristina Barcelona’ in Spain.
It is expected that Bardem, who was recently honored with an Oscar for his remarkable performance in ‘No Country for Old Men’ with Best Supporting Actor will exchange vows with Penelope Cruz later this year.
