
Pete Doherty is trying to turn over a new leaf and he is set to do so by entering next year’s London marathon.
In preparation for the 26-mile race, the Babyshambles star has taken up jogging around Wiltshire with his former landlord and radio station boss Ralph Bernard.
Britain’s Daily Mirror newspaper quoted a source as saying,
Ralph knocked on Pete’s door one day and they went for a run. Despite being completely out of shape, Pete enjoyed it and he’s been out again and again.
Conforming reports that Pete had been persuaded by Ralf to enter the event, a spokesman for the 28-year old rocker said,
There is some truth to this - you never know what could happen.
A spokesman for Bernard’s GCAP was also quoted as confirming the reports,
Ralph loves running marathons and probably persuaded Pete to try his luck.
Doherty has also included press-ups and mediation to his regimen.
Admiring the change of lifestyle a friend of his said,
He thinks that running is a great way to get back in shape - especially after piling on the pounds in rehab. He knows that people will be surprised by his efforts to be healthier but he really wants to turn over a new leaf.
