Robert Downey Jr. is a man who has gone through a lot. The star spent the majority of the mid to late ’90s behind prison bars following a series of heroin, drink driving and firearm offences. he is off drugs now but he is still wary of the demons coming back. He says,

Of course, I am afraid of falling back into the clutches of substance abuse - everybody is - but my wife is there for me.
He has not been able to get rid of his addiction to smoking, much to the disapproval of his son, Indio. He is man who has fallen to all the evil enticements that beckon any successful Hollywood star. The problem is that these vices then destroy their careers.

In the latest statement he has said, rather honestly for a showbiz person, that half the stars sleep with each other. The proximity that comes with working together on film sets leads to that. If any another star would have said that we could have assumed that he/she was doing it for shock value to get publicity. But when Downey says them we can believe him. As he has fallen to all vices. he has been on the brink of self-destruction and has come back. The newer version of Downey looks like a little child who depends on his wife and son; he would be lost without them. He is lucky that he has a supportive wife in Susan Levin. With her by his side he has crawled back from the abyss of total self-destruction. Marilyn Monroe was not so lucky. Downey is lucky he is alive today and talking about his demons both present and past. More importantly, he is working again.

Downey’s utterances may seem like blabbering of a weak idiot, who is lucky enough to be alive thanks to a good wife, but these outbursts of honesty give us a chance to look at the immoral side of Hollywood and the vices that destroy lesser men and women. But for Downey, we would not have heard the true story of lust in Hollywood.
