This definitely is a mega move because, to be honest, Pirates of the Caribbean is a venture that anyone would want to have under his belt.

Zac, 21, has already established himself as a good actor and boasts of a wide fan base because of the High School Musical series. However, recently he made his intentions clear that he is not looking for more movies in that series, maybe because he needed a change of image. And this very decision worked wonders for him. Disney people were reluctant to lose him and they approached him with another role - to be a part of their Pirates of the Caribbean series.

However, the transition from Troy Bolton to Captain Jack Sparrow is not an overnight game. Initially, he will star alongside Johnny Depp in the next Pirates of the Caribbean film and eventually take control from Depp and establish himself as the next Captain Jack Sparrow. And the best thing about this deal is that Zac’s bank balance will increase by $10 million! Yes, that’s the amount he is being offered to star in the next instalment of the Pirates of the Caribbean movie series.

A great leap indeed! But one thing’s for sure, I’ll always miss Depp. Honestly, it will be a tough job for me to accept any other face as ‘Captain Jack Sparrow’.
